Major Larecca D. Johnson
Major Larecca Johnson is a native of Wichita Falls, Texas. In 2009, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Cameron University Lawton, Oklahoma, and was commissioned through the Army Reserve Officer Training Course (ROTC) program into the Quartermaster Corps. Upon commissioning MAJ Johnson attended the Quartermaster Basic Officer Leader Course. After completion of the course, she was assigned to the 563rd Aviation Support Battalion, 159th Combat Aviation Brigade, 101st Airborne Division in Ft. Campbell, Kentucky where she served as a Headquarters Support Company Executive Officer, Maintenance Platoon Leader, Supply Support Activity Platoon Leader, Distribution Company Executive Officer and the Brigade Assistant S4. During this assignment MAJ Johnson deployed twice to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Following this assignment MAJ Johnson attended the Logistics Captain Career Course. She was then assigned to the 7th Transportation Brigade Expeditionary, Fort Eustis, Virginia. Here she served as the brigade Terminal Operations Officer before commanding the 359th Inland Cargo Transfer Company, 10th Transportation Battalion. After command, MAJ Johnson attended Advance Civil Schooling (ACS) at Old Dominion University. Her next assignment was as a planner and an Operations Officer with the Eighth Army G4 Directorate in Camp Humphreys, South Korea. After serving for 16 months in Korea, MAJ Johnson attended Intermediate Level Education (ILE) in Fort Leavenworth, KS at the Command and General Staff College (CGSC). Upon completion, MAJ Johnson was assigned to the 841 ST Transportation Battalion (SDDC), in Charleston SC. Where she is currently assigned as the Battalion S3. MAJ Johnson holds a master’s in Public Administration from Old Dominion University and Master of Operational Studies from the US Army Command and General Staff College. MAJ Johnson’s awards and decorations include: Meritorious Service Medal (w/2OLCs), Army Commendation Medal (w/1OLCs), Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, North Atlantic Treaty Organization Medal, Parachutist Badge, and Air Assault Badge.
Major General Arthur J. Rooney Jr.
Maj. Gen. Arthur J. Rooney Jr. is Vice Commander, Electronic Systems Center, Hanscom Air Force Base, Mass. The center’s mission is to acquire command and control, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems for the Air Force. The organization comprises more than 12,000 people located at six sites throughout the United States. The men and women of ESC manage more than $3 billion in programs annually in support of the Air Force as well as joint and coalition forces.
General Rooney was born in Charleston, S.C. He is a distinguished graduate of the ROTC program at Baptist College in Charleston. He has held assignments in the maintenance, logistics and programming fields at squadron, wing, major command, Air Force headquarters and Joint Staff levels. The general has also served in four command assignments, including two as squadron and group commander in Air Mobility Command; one as a wing commander in Air Education and Training Command; and one as Commander of the Air Force Security Assistance Center in Air Force Materiel Command.
